Producer The Cool has officially delivered his new album, Made In Africa, releasing it today as part of global Africa Day celebrations. The rollout is supported by the energetic focus single, “Mama Africa,” which has already started receiving praise for its cultural influences. Speaking about the project, the producer explained that the album celebrates African identity while fully embracing modern life. The artist says the project explores themes including African unity, prayer, struggle, money, love, and culture.
The music was intentionally designed to connect with audiences throughout Africa rather than focusing on a single region. The producer shared that the sound needed to resonate in Johannesburg, Lagos, Kampala, Nairobi, Lusaka, Maputo, Maseru, and Gaborone. The track “Mama Africa” captures the celebratory spirit of the project, combining dance-ready rhythms with modern production. The album opens with a traditional clan chant blended with orchestral instrumentation before transitioning into the focus track.
The next song, “Money,” explores financial ambition and privilege, leading into the emotional vulnerability of “Mama Pray For Me.” The artist sings about feeling down and under, asking his mother to keep him in her prayers during tough times. The project then transitions into “Qina Mfo,” translated as “Stay strong, son of Dube,” before shifting gears into celebration mode. The album continues with “Jika” and “Money 2.0” before closing with the triumphant anthem “Cape to Cairo.”
