In the world of music, women have long been the unsung heroes, their powerful voices echoing through the ages, their stories inspiring generations. Mzansi Magic Music (DStv channel 321) recognises the indomitable strength of these voices and is proud to announce the premiere of Her Story, a four-part docu-series that celebrates the personal and musical journeys of four top South African female musicians.

Her Story is a powerful collection of personal stories that showcases the persevering spirit of our musical icons. The series invites viewers into the intimate realities of Nhlanhla Mafu (Mafikizolo), Busiswa, Buhlebendalo (The Soil), and Nomfundo Moh, unveiling their triumphs and trials in the theatre of life.

The series, set to air on Sundays starting on 13 August, during Women’s Month, reflects the channel’s commitment to honouring the musical talent of women who have made a profound impact on the music scene.

“Through Her Story, we hope to amplify the voices of these extraordinary women who have shaped the music industry with their talent, tenacity, and passion. This series is a tribute to their journey, a celebration of their impact, and an expression of Mzansi Magic Music’s commitment to being Africa’s most-loved storyteller. We invite our viewers to join us in honouring these icons and be inspired by their stories,” says Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels – Mnet.

Her Story is set in a vibrant, dramatic, and emotive theatrical play setting, designed to bring forth the raw emotions, drama, and intensity that come with being a celebrated icon. You won’t want to miss the electrifying live performances and inspiring stories of the four phenomenal women. Each artist’s unique essence and journey are captured, transforming the stage into a vivid representation of their individual stories.

Nhlanhla Mafu, a founding member of the iconic Mafikizolo, is set to enchant viewers with her soul-stirring vocals and remarkable ability to form a deep connection with her audience.

Busiswa, a dynamo discovered by Oskido, the CEO of Kalawa Jazmee Records, impresses with her unique blend of genres and high-octane live performances that are nothing short of a musical spectacle.

Buhlebendalo, the powerhouse vocalist from the acclaimed acappella group The Soil, is famous for her compelling vocals and thought-provoking social commentary. Her story is a testament to the transformative power of music.

And let’s not forget Nomfundo Mo, a rising star who, at just 23, has already amassed accolades for her debut album. As she expands her international footprint, her story is a beacon of inspiration for young artists everywhere.

Her Story is more than just a show; it’s a celebration of the inspiring spirit of women in music.

Don’t miss the premiere of Her Story on Mzansi Magic Music (DStv Channel 321), Sunday 13 August at 16:00.
